Double Bloom Peacocks

Double Bloom Peacocks was painted purely in celebration of abundance. There are some days when subtlety quietly leaves the room, and this painting was one of them. Two peacocks share the stage with oversized flowers, a chinoiserie vase and a riot of colour, each element competing cheerfully for attention.

I like the sense of confidence in the birds. They seem entirely unbothered by the extravagance around them, as though they have always lived in a world where flowers bloom larger than life and every day feels a little theatrical. The result is joyful, decorative and unapologetically bold.
