Foxplosion

Foxplosion was painted with absolutely no intention of being subtle. The idea was simple: take all the energy, confidence and glorious drama of a fox and turn it up several notches. The result feels less like a fox standing among flowers and more like a fox bursting out of them.

There is a sense of movement running through the whole painting, as though the flowers, leaves and fur have all been caught in the same gust of wind. It sits somewhere between wildlife portrait and celebration, a reminder that foxes often seem far larger than life, even when they're standing perfectly still.
